About The Author

Steven Calkum

Steven Calkum grew up on a small reach in East Central Colorado. He is a graduate of Colorado State University with Bachelor’s in Range Management and a Master’s in Agriculture. His education, plus working in the natural resources management field required extensive technical writing that served to hone his writing skills.

Disability retirement due to health issues in 2014 has given him the time to pursue writing more seriously. Steven has completed the rough drafts of the first two sequels to Freeborn and has other writing projects in the works.

This book takes the reader into a wonderful fantasy world. I enjoyed the book a great deal and read it cover to cover with only a few breaks between readings. I was too anxious to discover what happened to Freeborn and Tishamon next to be able to put the book down for long. The imagery and characters are magnificantly described. You feel like this “world” actually exists. I hope someday this becomes as popular as “Lord of the Rings”.
